March 16, 2008-Palm Sunday

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!"

Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt."

Today is Palm Sunday, the day we celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He humbly rode on a donkey, the lowliest of animals. The people threw palms on the ground so Jesus didn't have to walk in the dirt. They bowed down and honored him. Palm Sunday is also the beginning of Holy Week. A powerful week leading up to the crucifixion of our perfect Lord. Today is also the day my two little chickadees confirm their baptismal vows publicly and proudly, preparing for their first communion. Please pray that their faith remains strong in their hearts as they confess Jesus is Lord.
