The word Maundy comes from the Latin word meaning "command", which Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper; to humbly love and serve others. Observing Maundy Thursday is not commanded in the Bible, but is a good thing to remember the Last Supper and His example of humility. It also helps us to focus on what is to come, the betrayal from Judas, the denial from Peter, and the events leading up to the crucifixion of our Lord.
I pray God blesses you as you remember the ultimate sacrifice made for all of us and the hope it gives us for eternal life.
