Tomorrow will be a sad day for me. My lil' chickadees will be going back to school. I'm not looking forward to three different schedules, juggling one to another, nor am I looking forward to homework. Not only does homework reveal what I don't know, but I most likely always have to "study" to learn it all. The biggest reason it will be a sad day for me is that I really enjoy having them home all day with me, hectic as it gets sometimes. I'm really going to miss them. Of course, the first day is usually filling out all the forms, cards and everything else that has to be acknowledged times three. Out of three of them, only one is excited about going back. That's because she is such a social butterfly and she enjoys all the activities she can get into. One of the two that isn't too excited isn't looking forward to having to get up early in the morning, while the other just plain doesn't like school. I will say one thing about all three of them. They make the best of it anyway. Maybe because they know they have no choice. Ha. Ha.
Mom took them shopping today to get a few new things to wear, along with new shoes. She was taken back by the amount of money spent and little to show for it. But she enjoyed most just being able to do it. I was just happy that I didn't have to do it this year.
I made all three of them decide tonight what they would wear tomorrow. That way we were able to argue about it tonight and not in the morning. So, bookbags, gym bags and purses are all sitting in the foyer, waiting to go and their choices of clothes are in their chairs in their rooms. It all "looks" like we are organized. We'll see how it goes in the morning. In the meantime, I'll brood about their leaving me everyday to go off into their world of adventure.

It's a great life.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AT BOTTOM OF BLOG

Wow, John & Shelby started the 13th. They both still love it. The problem this year is that John in first grade has way more homework every night than Shelby does in 4th. He doesn't understand that and gets very frustrated. I'm not sure the teacher is working with John. So I think I will have to have a meeting soon to find out what is going on. We're trying. We're heading out to Milwaukee for Harley Davidson's 105th Anniversary so you have a Happy Birthday this weekend. I'll miss you. Can't wait to see you on the 21st!
