It's Saturday morning. Biggee Whoop! What that means to me is about 1 1/2 hrs of catechism. Which is why Jim, my hero, is in Florida and I am not. It's early enough that no one sleeps in, and don't think I don't get boo's on that note. But, I'm ok with me having to stay behind while my beloved enjoys the warm, sunny temperatures. It's too important to me to get my girls to catechism. It's a two year instruction to help them understand their faith and prepare them for confirmation. Some have asked just what that is. Confirmation. Well, it's coming up quickly. Palm Sunday, March 16, and it's a big event in their lives, more mine than theirs, for now. That is when my girls will publicly renew their Bapatismal vows, vows which were taken FOR them when they were baptized. They will confess with their own mouths that they believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins and the life everlasting, and they will renounce the devil and all his works. The confirmation service is a preparation for them to take their first Holy Communion, instituted by Jesus in remembrance of what He did for them. It's not been easy getting through the past two years, every Saturday morning with a quiz first thing, no overnights on Friday, studying, memorizing. I've had some resistence from one, trying to buck my system (much like her mother) while the other, more laid back (much like her father), knows it wouldn't make any difference to argue with me about it. All in all, though, I'm very proud of both of them for the hard work they have put into this. They both have done very well, and someday, they will thank me for my hard-headed insistence. Not now..they're children who live in the world, but when they get older, they will need the foundation of their faith. THEN, it will be important to them. So, I'm off the class, ready to take the quiz right along side the two of them, and see how many answers we can "slide" by our kind hearted pastor with our choices of words.

Thanks for not mentioning the "methods" some of your fellow Catechism Classmates use to improve their grades with our kind Pastor!!!
You're the best!!!

You are such an inspiration. The patience you have with your grandchildren makes me want to be a better mom. It also makes me want to be around for my grandchildren. I love you and pray go God everyday how thankful I am that he brought you into my life.
Friends forever,
Donna
