Eighty Years Young

Sunday, July 27, my Mother turned 80. I've always wondered if she was mistaken about her birth year because, honestly, she doesn't look 80. Do you think she looks 80?
She doesn't act her age, neither does my dad, who is 85. A few weeks ago, the two of them picked apples in an apple orchard. I don't even want to do that! Saturday, I stopped by their house and my dad is laying brick. Believe it, I saw it with my own eyes. He was laying brick for a beautiful sidewalk. Shame on them, just can't get them to behave themselves. HA. HA. Well, anyway, we had a big birthday party for my mother Sunday. Everyone was here and I was really happy everyone got to come. We had great fun, lots of food and desserts and plenty of chatter. Here are a "few" pictures..................

We are very blessed. These days so many families have so many miles between them and they may get together maybe once a year or so. My family all live right here, close, so we get together like this about once a month. The man with the white hair and beard is Uncle George, my mom's only brother and he and Aunt Pat live a block away from my mom and dad. All their kids, my cousins, were there Sunday as well, along with all their kids and grand kids. So, we cousins are rather close, too. Family is very important. I just wish people would take it more seriously. I miss you, too, hope to see you soon.
