Two years ago, at Thanksgiving, I chopped down a big branch from my tree in the back yard. It was perfect.....had several smaller branches shooting from it. Robby helped me plant it into a pot and he carried into the living room. I cut out several leaves from construction paper, green, yellow, orange, brown. On Thanksgiving Day, when my family was at my house for dinner, I asked everyone to write on a leaf what they are most thankful for. These two leaves, written in Robby's own handwriting, were found in an envelope, inside his jewelry box. He must have taken them from the tree at some point and time to keep them. They meant something to him, as they mean something to me. He loved me and he believed.
Thank you, God for this reminder.
