Hannah Rae

This is Hannah Rae, school picture taken last fall. She looks different now....she has a mouth full of braces.

Hannah calls me about once or twice a week. Sometimes, just to chat. Other times, to get something off her mind. I love having conversations with her. She is older than her years(11 yrs) and it's like having a conversation with an adult. Sometimes we'll talk for 20 or 30 minutes, sometimes, if something is on her mind, we'll talk an hour or so. She lives in Circleville and I don't see her on a daily basis like I do Reinna, Chasey and Braydon, but she comes and stays with me a lot of times. She enjoys being with the girls. Yesterday she called me about a problem she is having with her best friend. It seems her best friend really likes a certain boy and Hannah got the idea to pay him to be her best friend's boyfriend for a few days. Yea, well, OK.......we all know that was the first mistake, but to make matters worse, Hannah tells another friend what she did. Second mistake. Of course, her best friend found out about it, the boy broke up with her and she was broken hearted, plus she is really mad at Hannah right now. I had a hard time convincing Hannah what she did was insensitive to her friend's feelings because the boy had every intention to break up after a few days, not to mention that he was "paid" to be her boyfriend, not because he really liked her. Well, I finally convinced Hannah that what she did wasn't a good thing, and yes, her friend is mad at her, but if she's really her best friend, she'll get over it and forgive Hannah. But, Hannah needs to make amends. Sigh, well, anyway, I'm not sure yet how it will go today. To these young girls, it's a life's crisis. Oh, to be young again.................second thought............no thanks!

I know I made my best friend mad more than once and she has always forgiven me. I love you and I am truly sorry but I know it has made our friendship stronger over the many years.

Or Greg.....omg, I'm sure you remember Greg Harrington....told you if you married him, I wouldn't go to the wedding and I didn't. Glad you got rid of him, tho..., ha ha ha ha....You have a jewel now, don't you?

Funny what kids think about these days. Hopefully Hannah learned a great lesson. It will only make her stronger. That is wonderful that your grandkids can confide in you. I love having that relationship with my own children. Sam seems to have a lot of issues with girls! They are really crazy and I think they just don't think things through sometimes!
