I don't know about you guys, but I've enjoyed this week so much. The weather has been just so delightful, windows open, breezes in the evenings. Sigh, thank you God for such splendor. Nothing could spoil it for me. Not getting hit in the side of the head by a boinking basketball gone awry(that was Monday), nor a side spill in the pond from the bank(that was Tuesday), not even the full bag of powdered sugar being dumped from the cupboard above my stove at 6:00 in the morning that forced me to run the sweeper to get it all up(that was today) The funny thing to me is, starting Monday morning in my devotions, I have been concentrating on praying for patience. I was hesitant, because I know God just doesn't snap His fingers and "WHOOLA"....I have patience. I knew when I asked, He would put me in situations that would teach me patience. This morning, after I dumped the powdered sugar, my son, Robby, was beside me. I was looking for granulated sugar for his coffee. I didn't have any reaction, just started cleaning up, he was helping me and he kept saying, "What a mess this is going to be trying to get it all up." I laughed and told him about how I had been praying for patience and I really hoped I had passed God's test by now. He just looked at me with a grin and said, "Only you, Mom, only you could turn this into something spiritual." He hugged me and the only thing I could say was, "Spiritual is my life. I live in God's realm. Try it, you might like it."
It's times like this that I thank God for using me as the example to those around me. It's when it gets noticed that the mark is made. You see, I know how God works, SOMETIMES, and so I know what I am going to face. I pray for strength, He puts me in situations where I have to be strong. I pray for a forgiving spirit, He puts me in situations that I must forgive. I could go on and on. The key is trusting. You have to trust that you will be blessed with the gifts you ask for. You have to ask the Holy Spirit to bless you with that trust. It doesn't come natural. Oh, and be prepared........you will absolutely be put in situations where you have no choice, but to trust Him, the Creator of all. But, you know, it's all worth it. Believe me, it's all worth it.
You all have a blessed week, enjoy God's beauty and.............be careful what you ask for.....unless you are ready to humble yourself before you "soar with the angels".
