Family Cook Out
We've been so busy around here. We're having our annual family cook out May 31 and my hero and I have been working hard to get everything ready for it. My hero has planted beautiful flowers all over, worked hard at grooming our grass and fixing what needs to be fixed so everything looks good. He usually isn't one for a lot of company, but he really looks forward to this cook out because most all of our family comes and he likes that. He put up new outside lights that look really pretty, touched up places around the outside that needed painted and moved out junk that has accumulated in our garage. I helped some, but most of my work is inside. I washed my windows, cleaned all my curtains, got all the outside furniture ready and decided what kind of food I'm going to have. We make a great team working on all the preparations. He will get all our boats out of the attic, making sure all the oars are okay, along with getting all the life jackets workable. The one thing he really doesn't like getting into is making sure the boats are all unsinkable by patching any leaks. I bought a new 4 man boat the other day. I couldn't pass it up, it was half price, but that isn't going to make him any happier about it. In fact, I haven't taken it out of the van yet because I know he is not going to be happy with me, but he will get over it. He says I buy a new boat every year. That's not entirely accurate. I want to make sure we have plenty of boats for everyone to enjoy and if one is unfixable, I will buy another one. Last year I bought two. I think he looks at it as a way for me to frustrate him when he has to find any leaks they might have. (LOL) Anyway, everything is going good getting ready for the 31st. Left to do is checking out all the yard games and toys. It will be a fun day. I'm excited.

We're not going to be able to come up this year. John has pictures in the morning for baseball then Shelby has a softball game at 2:00 and then a sleep over for a birthday party for one of her girl friends. Tell everyone we said "Hi". As for the funny - I'm not sure which move, either Shrek the Third or Monsters Inc. has this in the beginning of their movie. The kids absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing. I'll talk to you soon.

Well it sounds like you guys are almost ready to go! Obviously Chris and I won't be there, we will probably just be arriving in California that day. :( It's sad to think that we are going to miss a whole year of family get-togethers with you guys. But we will be back and we are going to try and come out for Thanksgiving depending on plane tickets and Chris' school schedule. Well have fun on the 31st! We will miss you guys!!
